The Park Theatre Announces October & November "Movies by the Park" and Raffle for a Complete Wedding or Family Event Photographic Package
With October & November "Movies by the Park" around the corner, Jaffrey's The Park Theatre's popular free "Outdoor Movie Nights" presents the original King Kong with Fay Wray, Bruce Cabot, and the "8th Wonder of the World" on Thursday, August 16 at 8:30 P.M. (inside the Civic Center 7:00 P.M. if rain). The popular summer film classic series then draws to a close on August 23 with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert starring in It Happened One Night , also on the Civic Center lawn at 8:30 P.M. or 7:00 P.M. inside the Civic Center if it rains. Popcorn, refreshments, and Park Theatre souvenirs are available.
On Scarecrows on the Common weekend, Saturday, October 6 at 7:00 P.M. "Movies by the Park" will be showing The Bride of Frankenstein with Boris Karloff and Elsa Lanchester. This classic film will be shown in the Jaffrey Woman's Club, corner of Main and School streets, Jaffrey and will feature a costume contest for the best "Bride of Frankenstein." Everyone attending the movie is asked to dress in costume. The contest will be judged and a prize will be awarded to the winner.
In addition to being the sponsor for this event, members of The Park Theatre Executive Team Tom and Christine Doane's Affordable Memories, a Division of Flying Horse Photo, LLC is conducting a benefit raffle for a Complete Wedding/Family Reunion, Anniversary Professional Photography Package valued at $1,200! The drawing of the winning raffle number will take place at the October 6th showing. The winner does not have to be present and the prize is transferable or can be exchanged for other photographic services by Affordable Memories. The prize is good from October, 2007 to December 31, 2009, subject to availability.
Raffle tickets are available from The Park Theatre's Board of Trustees and the Executive Staff and are also sold at the Jaffrey Chamber of Commerce. All proceeds from the Raffle will go to The Park Theatre.
Movie goers should plan to arrive before the 7:00 showing to have their photograph taken for a $5.00 donation to The Park Theatre.

Rounding out the Fall "Movies by the Park" free film classics will be a salute to servicemen and women on Veterans Day weekend, November 10th, when Clark Gable, Burt Lancaster, and Don Rickles will star in Run Silent, Run Deep. This film will be shown at 2:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. at the Jaffrey Woman's Club.
On Saturday, November 17, also at 2:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. in the Jaffrey Woman's Club's Cutler Memorial Building, the series will close with The Prince and the Pauper with Errol Flynn, Claude Rains, Alan Hale, and the Mauch Twins - Billy and Bobby - in the title roles.
