Preparations are Underway for The Park Theater's Inaugural Outdoor Showing of "Stagecoach," Starring John Wayne
Downtown Jaffrey's The Park Theatre will be presenting the movie Stagecoach, starring John Wayne -- the first in its free summer series of classic film showings -- on Thursday evening, July 12th at 9:00 P.M. on the Jaffrey Civic Center lawn.
In order to show these films outdoors, a special inflatable movie screen was acquired by The Park Theatre's Film Historian Mike King of Dublin. Under Mike's direction, Board members and volunteers had a "dress rehearsal" of inflating the screen, testing the sound system, and showing a brief section of the movie classic Tin Pan Alley.

The screen is up, L-R: Steve Thurber, Lillian Belletete, Tim Foley, Deborah Thurber
Other movie favorites to be shown include An American in Paris (July 19, also The Jaffrey Civic Center's "Night of 1,000 Cupcakes"), Bugs Bunny and Friends Cartoon Carnival (August 4 at 2:00 P.M. only, inside the Civic Center), Destry Rides Again (August 9), The Original 1933 King Kong (August 16), and It Happened One Night (August 23). Other classic films will be shown free in October and November.
