An American in Paris (1951) starring Gene Kelly, Leslie Caron, and Oscar Levant features the music of George and Ira Gershwin. The story concerns ex-GI (Gene Kelly) struggling to find himself as an artist in postwar Paris. When he meets dancer Leslie Caron (herself discovered by Kelly in the Ballets des Champs Elysees) he is immediately smitten by her. Winner of seven Oscars. Including Best Picture and a special Oscar for Gene Kelly.
